Back in November, I got to be on this panel sponsored by the Boston Society of Architects. The City of Boston is in the final phases of selecting a proposal for a permanent monument to the Kings-Martin AND Coretta-and arranged this public discussion about what memorials are, what they do, and what do we think this one in particular should be and do. While we don’t weigh in on which ones are our favorites (you can probably guess which one I chose in the public voting), we do provide (a lot) of information and insight into how we remember through the built form.
You can see the entire session at this link.
I was the only visual artist on this panel and I was extremely flattered and honored to be asked to participate with all these amazing people. Their bios are on the BSA website and you can see them here.
I hope you watch.
